More than 2,100 athletes competed in powerlifting, table tennis, volleyball, figure skating and bowling at the 2006 Special Olympics Texas Winter Games in Houston. The three-day competition took place February 2-5 at various sites in Northwest Houston. The Games kicked off with lots of excitement, including special guest Yao Ming in attendance at Opening Ceremonies.
