Team
Texas did an outstanding job at the 13th
Special Olympics World Summer Games held in Athens, Greece,
June 25 to July 4. Close to 315
athletes, including 36 Special Olympics Texas athletes, represented the United States
at the Games. SOTX athletes brought home
30 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze medals, as well as a lifetime of memories. Click here for the

The 22nd Annual Pepsi Bay Ball
Ballyhoop will be held indoors for the first time at Texas
A&M University
at Corpus Christi,
July 23-24. Teams will compete in the 3-on-3 basketball tournament in
several categories battling it out to be named the “Best on the Bay.” Click here

Roadhouse
Get ready to tip a cop after your next meal at Texas
Roadhouse! The Law Enforcement Torch Run is set to serve up support during
dinner time. on July 28 at Texas Roadhouse locations across the state.
Tip a Cop is a hearty fundraising event that dishes up money for Special
Olympics Texas. Police officers, sheriff’s deputies, highway troopers,
and other law enforcement members will spend the evening - in aprons - greeting
and serving patrons and collecting tips for SOTX! Click

brawn? Think you’re tough? Are you ready for the ultimate assessment of
your ability? …Then test your strength at the Law Enforcement Torch Run’s
Fire Truck Pulls in Austin on November 12 and San Antonio on October 8.
All you have to do is gather 12 of your strongest friends, relatives,
co-workers or workout buddies to pull an actual 55,000 pound fire truck
for up to 50 feet!

Fall into the Spirit of Volunteering
Special Olympics Texas athletes are getting
ready for Fall Classic, October 20-22 in Bryan/College Station. We need
volunteers to help out with competitions and events at the Games; no experience

Git’ Ready for Steaks & Stetsons
A Texas-sized night of phenomenal flair and
western charm is planned for August 20 at the Hyatt Regency at DFW Airport in
Fort Worth. The 5th Annual Steaks & Stetsons will be an
unforgettable celebration of live entertainment, live and silent auctions, a
VIP reception and more! This year's co-chairs are State Representatives Barbara
Nash and Diane Patrick. Sonny Burgess and his band will provide the boot

Lace Up for the Movement
The annual "Run with the
Heroes" 5K Run/Walk will be held on the tenth anniversary of the terrorist
attack on America.
Presented by the Austin Police Department and Southpark Meadows, this
year's "Run with the Heroes" will pay homage to the memory
of all law enforcement who died on 9/11, as well as local and statewide
first responders, including EMS, firefighters
and police officers who risk their lives to keep our communities
