Bowling Coaches ClinicDate: October 7, 2011
The Laredo area will hold a Bowling Coaches Training on Friday, October 7, 2011 at Jett Bowl North. The training will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end by 2:00 p.m. Please contact the area office to receive the registration form. The deadline to register is Friday, September 30, 2011. The training is available to the public. We encourage Special Olympics Texas coaches to encourage all assistant coaches to get certified. The coaches training is designed to train volunteers who wish to develop their coaching skills and become a certified Special Olympics coach. Coaches certification is recommended for anyone who plans to coach Special Olympics. It is required for the head coach of a team wishing to enter an area, regional or chapter competition. A coach must retain his/her certification by attending an annual area conference or recertify online, the coach must remain active in the Special Olympics Texas program in the specific sport(s), must attend all required coaches meetings for the sport(s) in which they are active, and every four years the coach must attend a continuing education course approved by the area training director/manager.
