MATP Challenge Day - Taylor

The Motor Activities Training Program (MATP) is designed specifically for athletes who are unable to participate in traditional Special Olympics sports. It was created to enhance individuals' motor skills, sports skills and physical fitness.
After the eight week training program is completed, a Challenge Day is offered that meets the needs of every participant and lets the athlete share his/her developed skills with family and friends. Participants are awarded based on participation, not place. Instead of competitions, there are skill stations where athletes are given the opportunity to demonstrate their personal best.
The eligibility criteria to participate in MATP is as follows:
- An individual with severe or profound intellectual disabilities
- Ages 3 and above
- Individuals who are unable to participate in traditional Special Olympics sports
Deadline for Delegation and Athlete Entries: April 29 by 12:00 p.m.
Start: 9:00 a.m.
End: 12:00 p.m.
