Go Bowling for Badges on behalf of SOTX

Get ready to roll out your support of Special Olympics Texas athletes.  Gear up to go bowling for badges on December 20 in Houston.  Bowling for Badges, sponsored by the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR), is a Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) fundraiser that supports more than 5,000 athletes in the Greater Houston area. 

The event is set for 7:00 p.m. at Palace Bowling Lanes, 4191 Bellaire Blvd.  The entry fee is $25 per person and $100 per team.  The fee includes two games and shoe rental.  Teams will consist of four members, plus one Special Olympics Texas athlete.  The tournament will wrap with an awards ceremony for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams.

About the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR)
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is Special Olympics' largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle.  In Texas, the Law Enforcement Torch Run began in 1985 and had grown to become one of the largest in the nation.  In the last decade, Torch Run has contributed over $11 million through the dedication of thousands of law enforcement personnel fundraising on behalf of SOTX.  The support provided by this dedicated group has contributed greatly to programs in local communities, which involve close to 44,500 athletes with intellectual disabilities throughout the state.
