Play Ball for SOTX at the LETR Tournament

Swing batter batter, swing into summer and sign up for the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) Softball Tournament on June 29 in Laredo.  Teams from across the Laredo area will battle some of the best players around in the day-long event, while raising funds for Special Olympics Texas.

The tournament is from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Benavides Softball Fields.  Registration is $125 per team.  To sign up or for more details, contact Maribel Santoya-Maciel (msantoya-maciel@sotx.org) at 956.712.2144, Jerry Mancha at 956.251.1151 or Javier Hernandez at 956.324.4354.  Proceeds will help support more than 1,400 Laredo area athletes. 

About the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR)
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is Special Olympics’ largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle.  In Texas, the Law Enforcement Torch Run began in 1985 and had grown to become one of the largest in the nation.  In the last decade, Torch Run has contributed over $11 million through the dedication of thousands of law enforcement personnel fundraising on behalf of SOTX.  The support provided by this dedicated group has contributed greatly to programs in local communities, which involve more than 44,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities throughout the state.
