Area 21 Volunteer Spotlight: Juan Salazar

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Juan Salazar is a soft-spoken caring individual whose calm demeanor, warm sense of humor and reliability have been in evidence for more than ten years as he has dedicated himself to the athletic training and personal development of individuals with disabilities in the Laredo area. He is much more than just a long-time volunteer with Area 21 Special Olympics Program. Salazar serves as an Area Training Director, Area Competition Director and Area Sports Management Team Committee Member. He works extremely well with the other head of delegation, the coaches, the athletes, and their families.

Coach Salazar uses his quiet leadership skills to calm the families and athletes, works with new coaches and volunteers and set the tone for a much-improved program for all. Coach Juan Salazar is an awesome SOTX representative and deserves to be in the spotlight as our "Laredo Area 21 Volunteer".
