Get into Gear for World's Largest Truck Convoy

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

More than 50 Texas truckers will get behind the wheel of a big rig for the World’s Largest Truck Convoy, presented by Special Olympics Texas and the Law Enforcement Torch Run, on August 25.  The convoy is a unique opportunity for truckers to partner with SOTX athletes to raise awareness of the movement and celebrate the trucking industry.

The event will begin with Opening Ceremonies at 6:00 p.m.  The convoy rolls out of the Dallas Convention Center (Parking Lot E) immediately afterwards.  Truckers will travel over the new Margaret Hill Hunt Bridge that crosses the Trinity River just west of downtown Dallas before returning to the convention center around 7:00 p.m.

Registration is $75 per truck and includes a t-shirt, cap, goody bag and dinner. For more details about the convoy, contact Doug Ray (dray@sotx.org) at 214.943.3774.

History of the World's Largest Truck Convoy
Inspired by the powerful impact Special Olympics had on his life through his participation in the Law Enforcement Torch Run®, combined with his family’s involvement with the trucking industry, Norm Schneiderhan, a Corporal with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, created the Truck Convoy, a one day celebration of the trucking industry to help raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics.
