Get Down and Dirty for SOTX

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Get more than your hands dirty at the inaugural Special Olympics Texas’ 5k(ish) Mud Slog on September 22.  This fundraiser is not for the “prissy” or neat and clean, but for those who enjoy trekking and sloshing their way to the finish line alongside family and friends.

The Mud Slog course includes a rugged terrain with multiple mud holes for “slogging” the competition.  The event is set for 9:00 a.m. at 20550 Townsen Boulevard in Humble.  Awards will be given for best team costume, most creative, and of course, being the dirtiest and cleanest finishers.

“Mud sloggers” must be at least seven years old to participate; 7 to 10-year-olds must be accompanied by a registered adult. Individual registration is $35; registration for a child/adult team is $40.  Check-in on Saturday is from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.  Sign up now at www.sotx.org/mudslog.

For more information or sponsorship opportunities, contact Judy Luquette (jluquette@sotx.org) or Cassie Northcutt (cnorthcutt@sotx.org) at 713.290.0049.  Proceeds from the Mud Slog support more than 3,802 athletes in the Greater Houston area.
