Heads of Delegation, Coaches, Family Members and Volunteers:
Thank you for all your time, energy and effort on behalf of the athletes. It is because of you that Special Olympics Texas is celebrating 50 years of successes.
We are no longer tracking attendance for the Area Conference. Coaches will no longer forfeit certifications if they do not attend. Area Conference will always be highly encouraged for all to overview and stay aware of updates and changes, but will no longer be mandated to attend. Coaches will remain in compliance with their Volunteer A requirements.
SOTX is accredited as a Special Olympics chapter through Special Olympics, Inc. In order to maintain the chapter status, SOTX must abide by the policies and procedures set forth by SOI.
The chapter status allows SOTX to continue the mission to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
This year, Area Conference can be viewed as PDF documents.
