We are excited to invite you to the 23rd annual Winter Games! Athletes from across the state have been training for weeks to compete in one of three sports. In addition, special events such as Opening Ceremonies, Athlete Village, Victory Dance, Closing Ceremonies and various clinics and demonstrations will round out the experience for athletes, coaches and families in attendance.

Special Olympics Texas is partnering with the University of Massachusetts-Boston on groundbreaking research into Special Olympics Texas athletes and their families, and we need your help! Volunteers and staff will conduct interviews from February through May. The first round of surveys will be conducted at Winter Games in Austin. If you're asked to participate, please do — our goal is to get 200 surveys completed over the weekend.
Knit a scarf for a Special Olympics Texas athlete to be presented at the 2016 Winter Games. Colors: dark royal or navy blue and white. Dimensions are 54-60 inches long; 6 to 7 inches wide; packed in ziplock bags for mailing. The notes to the athletes are great, so by all means include those, we just ask you please not attach them to the scarves themselves.
Scarves can be made in any pattern and can be knitted, loomed or crocheted. Please wash the scarf before sending it, especially if you smoke or have pets.
Please remember that we have moved! Ship your completed scarves to Special Olympics Texas, ATTN SCARF PROJECT, 1804 Rutherford Lane, Austin TX 78754.
