Training: Athletics, Tennis or Soccer Coach

AREA: Area 10 - Greater Dallas

Start Time: 8:30 a.m.

End Time: 1:00 p.m.

The Spring Sports Training School is welcome to any individual interested (no experience necessary) in becoming a certified coach in Special Olympics Athletics (Track & Field), Tennis or SoccerThis training course focuses on the basic skills and strategies of the sport, fundamental skills development for the athletes, as well as, competition and game understanding. This course includes a classroom session, an activity session performing the skills with the trainer and clinician, and a model training session with athletes.

The classroom session will begin at 8:30 a.m., before we break into the sport-specific trainings.

**The tennis coaches training has been rescheduled and new information will be announced soon**

Those attending this training can only obtain certification in one of the three sports.  

The following paperwork and online trainings need to be submitted and taken upon completing the coaches training and sent to the Area 10 office. All information can be accessed at the following link (http://www.sotx.org/get-involved/coaches/certification/)

  • Protective Behaviors Training
  • Class A Volunteer Form/Criminal Background Check
  • Concussion Training
