With a tremendous amount of support from professional health providers and volunteers, Special Olympics Texas is proud to announce that it conducted its most-successful Winter Games Healthy Athletes clinic last weekend in Austin. A record-number 779 health screenings were recorded during the two days, passing the previous Winter Games record mark of 274, set in 2016, by nearly three times.
Between Feb. 3-4, SOTX offered seven of eight Healthy Athletes disciplines (list below), making it the largest clinic it has ever held for its athletes. All disciplines were free of charge (no health insurance required) and open to all active athletes, whether competing in a Winter Games sport or not.
The next mjaor SOTX Healthy Athletes clinic will be held May 26-27 in Arlington, TX during the 48th annual statewide Summer Games.
