Grab your calendar and mark this one in pen. You’ve got plans for supper on Thursday, July 27. Meet us at Texas Roadhouse and Tip a Cop! Police officers all across the state of Texas will be serving dinner for a great cause. During the dinner hours, cops and Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) members will be working hard for your tips, which will be donated to Special Olympics Texas to help provide programming and training for children and adults with intellectual disabilities in your community. Come enjoy great food without the hassle of cooking and cleaning up, and support your local cops and Special Olympics Texas athletes! Not sure what you’re missing? Find a Tip a Cop at Texas Roadhouse near you.

Although Eunice Kennedy Shriver Day has traditionally been held in September, we will begin celebrating it on July 20 each year, to help mark the anniversary of the first-ever Special Olympics Games in 1968. To Eunice Kennedy Shriver it was not enough to believe strongly in the values of justice and equality, but that one must act and work toward bringing change to life. Please help us spread the word about Mrs. Shriver and the remarkable movement she unleashed.

In last month’s eNews, we told you about the history-making Unified Champion Schools Quadrathlon at this year’s Summer Games. We accidentally left out one of our competitors, LCM High School of Little Cypress-Mauriceville ISD. So – please join us in congratulating the LCM team for a job well done. The school is one of our biggest Unified Champion Schools, and we know they’ll be back competing in the Quadrathlon next year.
