For Andrea Stewart, Special Olympics has given her the chance to play several sports: basketball, bocce, bowling and swimming, while making life-long friends and memories.
In just a few days, Stewart will embark on one of her most memorable moments as a Special Olympics athlete, as she will go to Los Angeles with her fellow Richardson Roadrunner women’s basketball teammates to compete for Special Olympics USA at World Games.
Stewart has been involved with SOTX for 20 years and her mom and dad are both coaches.
“Playing basketball has helped me learn to follow rules and it helps me get the exercise I needs to stay healthy,” Stewart said.
Stewart graduated from the Texas School for the Deaf. She has been working for Marshalls for six years. She enjoys her computer, going to the movies, shopping and going to Church.
