Texas is a football state, and the Bryan/College Station is a hotbed for the nation's most popular sport.

Several years ago, Special Olympics Texas added flag football as one of its available sports and it has grown quickly. Texas even had a Unified Flag Football team compete in the recent USA Games, and the team won the silver medal.

On Tuesday, July 15, the cities of Bryan and College Station declared July 15 to be Special Olympics Texas Flag Football Day. The team was honored with a reception where area residents were able to show their appreciation for the team.

Way to go!
