The Balcones Country Club has hosted a free tennis skills clinic for SOTX athletes for the past five years. SOTX appreciates their members’ passion for teaching our athletes how to play better tennis.

During July and early August, The Dan Weger Tennis Center at Balcones Country Club, (located in NW Austin) sponsored another outstanding Summer Tennis Mini-Camp Clinic for the Special Olympics Texas athletes. Many of these athletes participated in Area 13 Spring Games, which was also hosted at the tennis center, and at SOTX Summer Games in Arlington.

The Summer Mini-Clinic provided skills instructions, movement games, special tennis related events, fun times (water gun cool down) and camaraderie among athletes, coaches and volunteers. The coaches’ hope is to provide continuing tennis skills advancement throughout the year and do this in an exciting and fun atmosphere.

We all give a special thank you to Balcones Country Club for hosting this event and being part of the athletes' development throughout the year!
