A SOTX athlete since 2010, 11-year-old Johnathan Aguilar already has an impressive medal collection. The  R.C. Centeno Elementary student competes in bowling and athletics in the Laredo area. Since he began participating, he's become more outgoing and has developed quite a competitive drive. He's earned gold medals in 100m and 50m races, as well as ball throw, relay races and bowling. When Aguilar has time to spare, he enjoys running, playing soccer and watching movies.

The Texas Bowling Centers Association is a big fan of Special Olympics Texas athletes. During January and February, many of their member centers will sell paper bowling pins to benefit SOTX! Be sure to thank them for their support.

Congratulations to Alamo Heights High School and Brady High School, which have been recognized as the first Unified Champion Schools in the state of Texas! Both schools received a gym banner that denotes their honor.
