More than 350 Big Country area athletes competed at the annual Spring Games competition on May 5 in Abilene.  Thanks to Abilene Christian University for hosting the Games and our dedicated volunteers who assisted with the event.  From handing out water to cheering on our athletes from the stands to presenting medals and ribbons, you were a big help throughout the competition.  The rivals raced for the gold in a variety of athletics (track and field) events.  They trained hard and performed well.

This year’s Spring Games was sponsored in part by the Community Foundation of Abilene.  The foundation awarded Special Olympics Texas – Big Country area a $5,000 for the event.  The Big Country area serves about 1,000 athletes from 24 different counties.
