Jim Myers is not your typical football fanatic.  What was once a hobby for the Greater Dallas area athlete has become a passion and has turned into an unbelievable talent.  Thanks to his love for the sport, Myers can name almost every high school mascot in the state.

"High school football has been my passion ever since I graduated from high school," explained Myers. "All levels; whether it's 4A, 5A, 2A, 1A or 6 man. I have a Texas football magazine and I study school mascots every year because you never know when there's new ones."

Myers started recording high school football games in 1989 and has recorded about 4,000 games. He goes to the non-district and district games, as well as the playoff games and championship games in the Greater Dallas area.  If he can't make it to a game (which is highly unlikely), you can bet he'll find a way to still get in on all the action - thanks to his radios.

"I have three in the bedroom, two in the guest room, one in the computer room and one in the garage."  Now, that's dedication!

Myers loves a challenge, so if you see him around at Summer Games, be sure to put him to the test and see if he can guess your mascot.

When he's not cheering on wide receivers, linebackers and quarterbacks, Myers serves SOTX as a Global Messenger and ALPs member.  He competes in bowling, softball, aquatics and basketball.
