Read all the success stories from local Meet in the Middle (MiM) campuses across Texas and get a recap of school events, competitions and random acts of inclusion in the latest newsletter.

On October 1, fifteen secondary campuses in United ISD (Laredo) participated in the first Unified Difference Maker Summit. One hundred students spent the day discussing campus culture and developing plans to make their schools more open and inclusive for all. Thanks to all of the UISD staff who supported this event, and to the student leaders for their commitment to making a difference.

On October 27, four students from Corbett Junior High (Schertz) presented at the National Dropout Prevention Center’s national conference in San Antonio. They discussed how to engage all students in campus activities, and shared the impact MiM has had at their school. Way to go, guys! Thanks to SCUCISD staff for supporting this Unified leadership opportunity!

What a great idea! At Central MS (Weslaco), students created a wall of inspirational messages written on post-it notes. Students are welcome to take one anytime, whether for themselves or a friend. So simple, but so powerful. Well done, CMS!

Inclusive homecoming courts are appearing all over Texas, like this one at George Washington MS (Laredo). MiM students: How can you make other campus events and traditions more inclusive?

Dueitt MS (Spring) created a four-minute video about MiM at their school, shown during a session on school climate and student leadership - at the AMLE Annual Conference in Columbus, OH! A link to the video is included in the district’s October newsletter. Check it out!
