Ever wondered what it takes to make the statewide Games happen?

Yes, we need athletes, coaches, volunteers, fans and sponsors...but there's also a lot of equipment that makes the magic happen--tents, water coolers, awards stands, chairs, you name it, we need it. And it's all put in place by members of our Equipment Team, which is made up of SOTX staff and volunteers.

The Equipment Team works from early morning to late at night, all with a smile and a great sense of humor. The Equipment Team is looking for some new members to help keep up the great legacy they've established.

Equipment Team Key Volunteer Sandra Dautel, who's been a member of the Equipment Team since 1997, said she enjoys being part of such an important team.

"We're like family, especially at Summer Games," she said. "We get here, and when someone's not here, they're missed."

Wondering whether you have what it takes to be on the Equipment Team.

Characteristics of a great Equipment Team member include:
Willingness to work hard
Ability to life heavy objects
Self-starter
Problem solver
Ability to fix things that are broken
Flexibility
