Judy Wehmeyer (pictured right) just became a bus driver for special needs children earlier this school year. The more she drove the children, the more she became interested in seeing how they interact with others when they’re not on the school bus.
A few months later, her friend, who is in charge of a local bowling league in Fredericksburg called Judy and asked her about becoming a Unified Partner for SOTX Bowling.
Judy jumped on the opportunity and so far, she says it has been an eye-opening experience. Upon joining the Fritztown Rebels, Judy was partnered with Kayland Wofford. They have been bowling together for six months and Sunday morning at the 2017 Winter Games was an exciting day for the pair, as they got to compete at the state level together for the first time.
To prepare for this opportunity, they met every Sunday for the last four weeks and we bowled for two hours at the local bowling alley.
Prior to this, Judy had never been involved with SOTX, but for those that may be hesitant, she highly recommends doing it.
