FC Dallas has partnered with SOTX as part of a National Initiative to promote Unified Sports and soccer. For the past two years, a Flower Mound Special Olympics soccer team has served as the FC Dallas SO Exchange team. This team practiced, trained and played like the pros, traveling to play the Colorado Rapids in Denver during the Fall of 2013 and playing Colorado Rapids at Toyota Stadium in August 2014. The experience was unlike any other and something those athletes and coaches are never going to forget.
This year we are selecting new coaches and new players for the Unified team! The 2015 team will play two games, one home and one away against LA Galaxy’s Special Olympics Unified team.
Coach Applications are due March 30, 2015.
Athlete and Unified Partner Applications are due May 1, 2015
Athlete / Unified Partner Tryouts: May 16, 2015
April 17-19, 2015 – Fairview, TX
This is not a Special Olympics Event; however, we will receive a generous donation if we provided at least 40 volunteers! Help us out!

CFB10's Ruhly Finds Connection to SOTX Through Unified Sport
John Ruhly began volunteering with Special Olympics Texas in the late 1980's. He has been working with and driving Phillip Armstrong around to different events for years. Despite some wonderful athletes' mothers taking over the coaching of the bowling team around 2010, he still wanted to be involved with the Carrollton/Farmers Branch Cyclones' team and people, so he asked Phillip if he wanted to form a Unified team. Now, after every State Game, Phillip asks John to partner with him the next year.
