In collaboration with the Gus Macker organization, the Town of Fairview has elected to delay the Gus Macker 3 on 3 Basketball tournament that was scheduled for April18 and 19 to September 12 and 13, 2015
This is not a Special Olympics Event; however, we will receive a generous donation if we provided at least 40 volunteers! Help us out!

SOTX Athletes Selected as MLS All-Stars
MLS WORKS is hosting a Special Olympics Unified Sports All-Star soccer match on July 28 in conjunction with the AT&T MLS All-Star Game. Athlete Roy Bayona and Unified partner Elli Brunts will be traveling with Coach Kyle Schroder to the All-Star Game. They will play on July 28 at 6:00 p.m. (CT) at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Denver, Colo.

Newest FC Dallas SOTX Members Introduced, Take Part in Media Day and Practice
About two weeks ago, news broke that 18 SOTX athletes and Unified Partners were named to the FC Dallas Special Olympics Texas team after successfully completing a tryout. To make things official, the newest members were presented with authentic game uniforms before club president Dan Hunt held a press conference at Toyota Stadium on Thursday, June 18, to introduce each of them to the public and sign them to contracts.

CFB10's Ruhly Finds Connection to SOTX Through Unified Sport
John Ruhly began volunteering with Special Olympics Texas in the late 1980's. He has been working with and driving Phillip Armstrong around to different events for years. Despite some wonderful athletes' mothers taking over the coaching of the bowling team around 2010, he still wanted to be involved with the Carrollton/Farmers Branch Cyclones' team and people, so he asked Phillip if he wanted to form a Unified team. Now, after every State Game, Phillip asks John to partner with him the next year.

“We Got This” and Yes, Grand Prairie Does!
With our Area 10 Basketball Tournament cancelled due to inclement weather last week and no reschedule planned, we wanted to give a special shout out to our generous hosts of the event for the past 3 years. Our theme for the tournament this year was “We Got This” and Grand Prairie ISD without a doubt had this tournament covered.
