The 2016 FC Dallas/Special Olympics Texas Unified Soccer team opened its season on Sunday afternoon with a 3-0 win over Sporting Kansas City/Special Olympics Kansas & Missouri at Children’s Mercy Park. A pair of goals from Doug Sullivan and one from Alyssa D’Aloise led the squad to an impressive victory.
At two months old, doctors confirmed that Chantesia Steen was deaf. After getting cochlear implants at age 4 and then moving from Mississippi to Texas, Chantesia found her way into Special Olympics when she was 9 years old. Ten years later, she will compete in her first area competition in the pentathlon and team relay at Area 20's Spring Games on Saturday..
